The homosexual narration in A.S.Byatt's tetralogy embodies the change of public attitude toward homosexuality around the time of Gay Liberation Movement from 'homophobia' to understanding and tolerance.Byatt's tetralogy also reveals the important reasons for the Gay Liberation Movement of the1960 sin Western countries. The radicals of the Gay Liberation Movement look on 'body' as a revolutionary prop not only to combat the heterosexual hegemony, but also to launch a thorough revolution against bourgeois values. Finally,Byatt's tetralogy also warns that the 'rebellion' represented by homosexuality may lead to social crisis, manifesting the reflection and introspection of that generation after the revolt against traditional morality.
