This year marks the 20th anniversary of the death of Eileen Chang, one of China＇s most influential writers. Her best-known works include The Golden Cangue, Love in a Fallen City, The Red Rose and the White Rose, Little Reunion and Lust. Caution. Chang was born in Shanghai in 1920. She moved to Los Angeles, in the US, in 1955. The next year, she married Ferdinand Reyher （ 1889-1967）, a Hollywood movie scriptwriter.
