王衍成早年接受了严格的写实训练,90年代移居法国之后开始抽象探索,近来创作出一批后抽象作品,重回中国传统美学。王衍成的艺术轨迹,在中国当代艺术界具有一定的代表性,可以说是中国当代艺术发展历程的缩影。

Wang Yancheng had been trained as a realistic painter in China in 1980 s. When he moved to Paris in 1990 s, he begun to learn abstract art. Now he created a style that he named the post-abstract and returned to traditional Chinese aesthetics. The development of Wang yancheng＇s art is a representative in China, from which we can see the processes of contemporary art in China.
