总结近年中医外治法治疗神经根型颈椎病（CSR）的应用及研究情况，提出辨病与辨证相结合，进一步规范评价标准和操作规范，按照中医思维突出整体观念和辨证施治的指导思想，进一步提高外治法临床疗效的新观点。

To summarize the status of the application and research of external therapy of TCM for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy （CSR） in recent years, and put forward some new ideas that combines differentiation of diseases and syndromes to further standardize the evaluation criteria and oper-ational specifications, emphasizes the guildlines of holistic view and treatment based on syndrome differentiation according to the TCM thinking to further improve the clinical curative effect of external therapy.
