Harmony Between the Old and the New: A Case Study of the Traditional Motifs in Contemporary Architectural Ornament

建筑的地域性特征,是当代建筑发展的重要趋势之一。在地域性的空间形式和材料工艺之外,含有传统母题的建筑装饰逐渐成为体现地域性特征的有效手段。该文将选取近年来四个建成案例,从以下方面加以分析:1装饰元素自身的形式特征;2传统母题的选取与抽象衍化;3建筑装饰如何与建筑内容与文化背景有机地结合。在案例研究的基础上,归纳传统母题在当代建筑装饰中应用的经验与模式,为建筑实践提供可借鉴的理论依据。

The architecture regional characteristics become one of the most important trends of modern architecture development. In recent years the architectural ornament plays more and more important role in reflecting the regional characteristics of contemporary architecture besides space form and material technology. Based on the analysis of four built projects such as formal characteristic of decorative element, choose and derivation tradition motif, how the architectural ornament combine with architecture contents and the culture background. The article focuses on how the ornamental elements embody the traditional motifs in different ways as well as how the ornaments integrate with the overall building and its cultural background in order to support theoretical foundation for the architectural practice.
