中国传统哲学概念“理”与西周哲学译名之研究

The Concept of“li”(理) in Chinese Ancient Philosophy and in Nishi Amane's Translation

＂日本近代哲学之父＂西周（1829~1897）译介的大量西方哲学概念之中,中国传统哲学概念为其重要的依据与媒介。目前学界对此问题尚无深入的研究探讨。中国传统哲学中的＂理＂这一概念是西周译介西方哲学概念时常用的关键词。西周曾使用＂reason＂、＂law＂、＂principle＂、＂idea＂、＂truth＂以及＂relation＂等西方哲学范畴来与其进行对译。其中,既有形而上意义上的＂理＂,又有形而下意义上的＂理＂,既有中国传统哲学意义上的＂理＂,又有非中国传统哲学意义上的＂理＂。从对其译介的过程可以看出,西周不仅对中国传统哲学意义上＂理＂有着准确深入地认识,而且在东西方哲学思想碰撞中还有对其的超越与发挥。

Nishi Amane（西周）was known as ＂the founding father of modern Japanese philosophy＂.and was the first scholar in promoting Western scholarly thoughts in Japan.Among his voluminous translation works.Chinese ancient philosophies were his philosophical foundations.Little research has been found in this direction.The concept of ＂li＂（理） in Chinese ancient philosophy was a key word in Nishi Amane＇s translation of Western philosophies.He used to use ＂reason＂.＂law＂.＂principle＂.＂idea＂.＂truth＂ and ＂relation＂ to translate ＂li＂（理）.In his translation.there are metaphysical ＂li＂（理）.and physical ＂li＂（理）; there are ＂li＂（理） in the sense of Chinese ancient philosophy.and ＂li＂（理） that is not Chinese.From his translation.we can see that Nishi Amane（西周） not only had profound and precise understanding of ＂li＂（理） in Chinese ancient philosophy.and is able to elaborate and develop the notion in interaction with Western philosophical thoughts.
