As well-known universities in modern Chinese history of higher education, Nanjing Higher Normal School and National Southeast University have formed a very unique campus culture in thirteen years, had significant education impact and trained a large number of outstanding talents. These achievements were benefited the principal GUO Bing-wen who focused on cultivating people and fostering a kind of cultural life. Principal GUO emphasized cultivating and nurturing students by forming excellent campus culture, paid attention to developing students＇ healthy personality and independent personality by the reconstruction of student lifestyle. The campus culture of Nanjing Higher Normal School and National Southeast University was the physical environment, spiritual products and lifestyle created by teachers and students. The university spirit is the soul. Student government based on the cooperation among teachers and students is the carrier of university campus culture construction. Principal Guo always thought about the position and orientation of campus culture in the South and East high school practice by standing on the height of cultivating good citizenship for democratic society, building a kind of university culture and spiritual atmosphere valued academic research, and making university lead society.
