Breeding of a New Hybrid Hot Pepper Variety——Chuanteng 9

川腾9号辣椒是以自交系2008-10-2-16-5为母本、自交系2008-51-1-1-2为父本配制成的一代杂种。该品种中早熟;果实线形,纵径24.3 cm,横径1.6 cm,果肉厚0.15 cm,平均单果质量20.0 g;青熟果绿色,老熟果鲜红色,外观商品性好;味辣,适鲜食,干制和加工辣椒豆瓣酱;耐涝、抗疫病;露地每667 m2产鲜红椒2 200 kg左右。适合四川和全国辣椒产区种植。

Chuanteng 9 （2008-10-2-16-5 × 2008-51-1-1-2） is a mid-early variety. It grows green linear fruit to bright red ones, 24.3 cm in length, 1.6cm in diameter, 0.15 cm in fruit-wall thickness, and 20.0 g per fruit with good commercial quality and pungent flavor, suitable for fresh cooking, fruit drying and chilli sauce processing. It yields 2 200 kg fresh red fruit per 667 m^2 in the field. It is tolerant to waterlogging and resistant to diseases like phytophthora blight. It could be grown in the hot pepper production areas of China.
