From the view of the historical development of modem China, the era of President Mao was an open- atmosphere time. The reform of culture and transformation of society at that time laid the foundation for modem China＇ s culture and social formation. That era left us with classic images and text which had become a symbol of consciousness. This symbol finally developed into the interpretation of images which is now considered as the es- sential point connecting works of art＇ s social function and hermeneutics for our culture. The significance of the role that images and texts playing in the cultural propagation process is far beyond our imagination.
