Objective To study the application value of procalcitonin (PCT) combining with pathogen detection in the diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection. Methods 80 patients with respiratory tract infections from January 2013 to September 2014 into our hospital were selected as research objects.According to the sequence of admission into hospital, they were evenly divided into observation group (bacterial infection) and control group (non-bacterial infection),40 cases in each group. Two groups were provided with serum PCT density detection and serum antibody of IgM 9-joint detection in respiratory tract by electrochemistry. The positive rate, serum PCT level,IgM antibody and sputum culture in two groups was observed and analyzed. Results The positive rate and the PCT level in the observation group respec- tively was 90%,(5.09±0.78) ng/ml,which were significantly higher than those in the control group, the difference was sig- nificant (P〈0.05).The positive rate of sputum culture in the observation group was 30%,which was significantly higher than 0% in control group. The positive rate of IgM antibody in respiratory tract only was 5%,which was lower than that of control group, the difference was significant (P〈0.05). Conclusion For patients with lower respiratory tract infections, application of PCT combining with IgM 9-joint detection in respiratory tract can improve the clinical diagnostic rate and have important guiding significance on medication selection, which is worthy of expansion in clinic.
