The Rite and Music Culture and Legal Governance of the Western Zhou Dynasty

西周是我国古代礼乐文化大发展的时代,而周公在整合和发展当时的礼乐文化中起了重大作用,他从事制定巩固周王朝统治全国的一系列方针、政策、制度,在政治、经济、军事、文化和社会生活各个领域都有具体规定,而这些规定贯穿于各种形式的"礼仪"之中。后人据此整理编撰成《周礼》《仪礼》《礼记》三礼等礼书,内容涉及社会生活的各个方面、各个阶层,对我国几千年的封建社会影响甚深,是我国古代文化史宝库中的重要组成部分,是周人在中国文化史上的又一创新和贡献。这对今天依法治国,实现中国梦也有一定的参考价值。

The Western Zhou Dynasty was a period of great development of the rite and music culture in ancient China, and Duke Zhou played an important role in integrating and developing the rite and music culture at that time; he directed the designing of the series of principles, policies and systems for the Zhou court to rule the realm and formulated concrete regulations in the domains of politics, economy, military affairs, culture and social lives, and these regulations were woven in the ＂rites and ceremonies＂ of various forms. The Zhouli（Rites of Zhou）, Yili（Book of Etiquette and Ceremonial） and Liji（A Collection of Treatises on the Rules of Propriety or Ceremonial Usages） compiled by the later people based on these regulations and their practices mentioned all of the aspects and scenarios of the social lives, and deeply influenced the thousand-year long feudalism society of China. The rite and music culture is an important component of the treasury of the cultural history of ancient China, and an innovation and contribution of the Zhou people to the Chinese culture. This also has reference value for the present-day ＂Rule of law＂ and the achievement of the China dream.
