The essay tries to describe horizontality,the on-going clue penetrated in the works of Alvaro Siza,through the experience of visiting his projects and literature review.While describing the specific characteristics of horizontality,the essay aims to demonstrate that the fragmentation of horizontality not only derives from the tradition of modernism,more importantly,but his visual and body experience of local context in Porto of Portugal as well.
