This article reviews the design process of the Jinzhong Urban Planning Exhibition Center. By seeking the deeper relation between the built structure and its site in the gradually alienated urban context, by seeking the evolution of space organization and constructional logic in the evolution of lifestyle and architectural function, and by seeking the story＇s clues and its ending from the increasingly dissipated cultural memories, Jinzhong Urban Planning Exhibition Center develops and represents the traditional Chinese courtyard, and tries to build a new form of tension in the gradually alienated urban context, and to seek the rebirth and evolution of the traditional courtyard culture in the construction of form and space.
