New Research on Chu Quzi ChijiaoFu

楚系青铜器"屈子赤角簠"的作器者"屈子赤角",目前学界多认为其即《左传》记载的楚"息公子朱"。揆诸史籍及出土材料,该观点值得商榷。"息公子朱"当为"公子朱",其出身为王室公子,与"屈子赤角"应非一人。

In recent scholarship,the donor of the Quzi Chijiaofu,an important piece of Chu bronze,was considered as Xigong Zi Zhu mentioned in Zuo Zhuan. The author argues that this conventional view contradicts with other lines of evidence mentioned in transmitted texts and unearthed records. Instead,the author suggests ‘Xigong Zi Zhu＇should be read as‘Gong Zi Zhu＇,or the prince Zhu,who belonged to the royal family of the Chu State. In other words,‘Quzi Chijiao＇could not be the same individual of ‘Gong Zi Zhu＇.
