A health research center of Peking Univer- sity recently released the Chinese People＇s Visual Health Report. It shows that in 2012 in the Chinese populaton aged above five, approximately 500 million, have hypermetropia or myopia, those with myopia numbering 450 million, of which 30 million are severe cases. More than 70 percent of high school and college students are near-sighted, the highest percentage worldwide, and this figure has been rising year by year.
