To overcome the common valve appearance defects in quality inspection, such as gas holes, sand holes, cracks, shrinkage holes, mechanical damage, etc., the locations, the characteristics, the inspection methods and the assessment principles of the defects are analyzed in detailed in order to improve the technical level of quality inspection personnel, to ensure tile accuracy of the evalua- tion results and to prevent undetected flaws or miscalculation. This paper can provide reference for valve quality inspeetion and on- site inspection personnel.
