岭南诗派研究与诗歌文献整理,是两个既有区别又相联系的课题。岭南诗派导源于唐宋,崛起于元末明初,曾在长达六七百年的时间里引领风骚,成为可与中原、江左颉颃的地域性诗人群体。自明清以迄近现代,评家对岭南诗派的品论不绝如缕,但当代很少有人把它作为独立对象来进行研究,因此对该诗派的发展轨迹、活动状况、诗学渊源、诗风特点、创作成就与历史影响作系统的研究,是当前学术界的一项重要任务。

The research on Lingnan Scholl and the literature study of its poetry are two subjects which are distinct from and yet related to each other. Lingnan School originated from Tang and Song Dynasties, and rose to its fame in late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties. For more than six to seven hundred years, Lingnan School dominated the literary world, becoming an important group in the same league as the brilliant poets in central China and the southern bank of the Yangtze River. From Ming and Qing Dynasties to modern times, there had been comments and judgments on Lingnan School. But in contemporary China, few take it as a separate subject for research. It is important for the academics to make a systematic research on the school＇s history, activities,origins, styles, achievements, and historic influence.
