Interdisciplinary scientific research is getting more and more attention, and it is impossible to use traditional evaluation methods to evaluate this type of research. Aimed to solve this problem, the paper introduces a new method, PRP-index, for evaluating the journals of different research fields proposed by Vinlder, the method is based on the information included in the papers with high citations. In view of the fact that the production has too great an impact on the evaluations, this study makes some modifications on it. The calculation process is analyzed. The similarities and differences compared with H index are summarized. As an example, the PRP-index and H index of 111 core journals in 6 different research fields are calculated, the result and reasons are analyzed. The empirical research shows the effect of the PRP-index in evaluating the scientific journals of different research fields.
