In the history of Chinese modem press, Wu Dingjiu was famous as the father of ＂Jin News paper＂ and one of the newspapers and periodicals pioneers. The significance of discussing Wu＇s early newspaper practice is not only to make the outstanding of his contributions to ＂Jin Newspaper＂ and the establishment and development of Bejing News Translation Agency well known, But also know the devel- opment of the press in the early Republic of China and actual survival of readers through this history.
