A monolingual corpus is rich in resource, intuitive and exhaustive in contents and professional in classifica- tion. In Chinese-English translation practice, the application of British National Corpus（BNC） could help translators iden- tify grarnmatieal information from a microscopic view, promote learners to independently concern micro linguistic phenomena with authentic linguistic data so as to improve translation ability.
