Study on the Necessity of Practicing Performance-based Design

本文通过对我国建筑工程消防设计现状的调查和分析，对比以性能为基础的设计规范的特点，探讨在我国推行以性能为基础的设计规范的必要性。

Based on the investigation and analysis of the present state of the building fire engineering design in China, the paper describes the properties of the performance-based design and performance-based code. The necessity of practicing performance-based design in China is discussed aiso in the paper.
