The Writing Contrast Surpassing Time and Space:A Comparative Study on Essays between Mo Yan and Lamb

以小说见长的我国首位诺奖得主莫言,其散文也同样让人拍案叫绝。生活在英国十九世纪的查尔斯·兰姆,虽与莫言处于不同时代,其随笔风格与莫言的散文神貌兼似。他们的回忆式的叙述角度、个人心境和体验式的随笔风格、深厚的地域情结、童年往事的回忆、讽刺加写实的人情世故再现、雅俗共赏的文本构建等无不显示出超乎想象的相似性。但莫言海阔天空的叙事、质朴又豪放的形象、狂放恣肆的讽刺与兰姆娓娓道来的优雅叙述、善良忧郁的气质、善意的调侃式的幽默,又各自彰显出东西方文化的独特魅力。

The first Chinese Nobel Literature Prize winner,Mo Yan,who is famous for writing novels,is also good at essays. Charles Lamb,lived in England in the 19 th century,has the identical writing style with Mo Yan in essays,although both of them live in different ages. The similarity lies in the reminiscent narrative,personal mood and experience,deep territorial complex,memories of childhood,ironic and realistic portrait of worldly wisdom,texts which suit both the refined and the popular tastes. However,Mo Yan and Lamb also have their own unique qualities. For example,Mo Yan is unrestrained and far- ranging in thought,while Lamb described things in a more elegant way. Mo Yan has the image of simple and bold,however Lamb was a kind and melancholy man. The irony in Mo Yan's essays is wild and arrogant,whereas Lamb was kind and teasing at humor.
