"梅州侨乡的形成"是相关方志的重要内容,但相关的研究仍然处于初期阶段。梅州侨乡有形成于"19世纪末"、"民国时期"、"民国之后"、"建国之后"等多种观点,但都未作深入探讨,大多缺乏史料支撑。方志要避免做成宣传资料或各单位的总结汇编;方志编纂应满怀对历史的敬畏。

The hometown of Meizhou overseas Chinese was an important content in the relevant local records,but the related research is still in the early stages.There are many viewpoints about the hometown of Meizhou overseas Chinese that have bees formed in the related researches,For example,at the end of the nineteenth Century,during or after the period of Republican China,after the founding of the Peoples Republic of China.But these researches did not make the thorough discussion.The local records is not propaganda material or unit summaries.We should respect the history when we compose the Local Chronicles.
