批评性话语分析的主要目的是通过话语分析来揭示语言使用、意识形态和权势之间的关系。文章选取奥巴马在2014年西点军校毕业典礼上的演讲作为话语分析语料,运用批评性话语分析理论和分析方法,从人称代词、情态动词、词汇和语篇等四个方面分析奥巴马的演讲,由此来探究语言是怎样为意识形态服务的,从而更好地了解演讲的深层意义和演讲者的政治意图。

Critical discourse analysis mainly reveals the relations among language usage,ideology and power.By choosing Mr Obama＇s west point commencement speech as researching material,combing the theory of CDA,this paper makes a critical discourse analysis of the personal pronouns,modality,lexical choices and discourse.It shows how language serves the ideology,so as to have a better understanding of the speech and the political purpose of the lecturer.
