A Review on Xu Yibing,a Modern Educator

中国近代教育的发展,离不开教育学人艰辛的努力和积极的推动,徐一冰即是其中较具代表性的一位。他受激于"东亚病夫"之讥,赴日接受近代体育教育的洗礼,形成了独特的教育思想。他回国后先后创办中国体操学校、南浔贫儿教养院,积极创办杂志、撰写文章传播近代体育理论,极大地推进了中国近代体育教育事业的发展,在贫困儿童教育、儿童职业教育、教育理论传播等也做出了开拓性贡献。

The development of modern education in China can not be separated from the hard work and the positive promotion of the pedagogy people, one of whom is Xu Yibing , a representative one. Stimulated in the ＂sick man of East Asia＂and baptized by modern physical education in Japan, Xu Yibing formed a unique educa- tional thought. After returning home, he founded the Chinese gymnastics school, the Nanxun poor children＇s education school, actively founded magazines, and wrote articles to spread modern sports theory. His behavior greatly promoted the development of modern physical education in China, and made pioneering contributions to the education of poor children, vocational education, and education theory transmission.
