Active Participation and Independent Criticism——Dialogue between Edward Said's " Intellectuals Theory" and Lu Xun's novel

就萨义德的《知识分子论》和鲁迅的小说进行了比较研究,阐释了二者关于知识分子的精神追寻:有良知的知识分子积极参与一些有意义的事情,才能更好地寻找解决问题的方法并积极有效地传达自己的思想;知识分子只有对社会秉持独立批判的立场,才能高效发挥针砭时弊的批判功能,履行社会守望者的职责,推进人类社会的精神建构。

This article makes a comparative study between ＂Intellectual Theory＂ of Said and novels of Lu Xun, illustrating both the common spiritual journey about intellectuals. First, the active participation of intellectuals with conscience was actively involved in something worthwhile, in order to find some solutions better to the problem and actively or effectively convey their thoughts. Second, intellectuals upheld the independence of the social critical stance, so as to effectively play the role of criticizing, fulfill social responsibility and advance the construction of community spirit.
