形合与意合对比分析——以《生死疲劳》中英文为例

A Contrastive Study of Hypotaxis and Parataxis——With Reference to Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out both in Chinese and English

形合与意合是英汉两种语言的主要区别之所在,其对比分析一直是语言学界关注的焦点。而大多对形合与意合现象的分析局限于句法层面,且实证研究较少。本文以《生死疲劳》中英文本为参照,分析汉语与英语在句法及篇章层面的形合与意合特征,发现语言的形合与意合特征具有相对性,且不同语言层面的特征亦不相同。

The main difference between Chinese and English lies in parataxis and hypotaxis which have been the focus in the field of linguistics. While most of the contrastive analyses confine to the syntactic level and are lack of empirical study. This paper, based on the Chinese version and the English version of Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out, analyses the paratactic and hypotactic features of Chinese and English both on the syntactic level and the textual level, and finds that both parataxis and hypotaxis are the relative features of languages and change with different linguistic levels.
