Liu Zhiji and Huojia County

唐代著名史学家刘知幾所撰《史通》是一部划时代的史学名著。刘知幾所取得的史学成就是与他在获嘉的经历分不开的。出任获嘉县主簿期间,他博览群史,打下了史学研究的坚实基础。他与朋友切磋学问,对以后的修史治学产生了深远的影响。刘知幾还多次直言上书,表现出敏锐的政治洞察力和强烈的社会责任感。他还创作《思慎赋》这篇"刺时见志"的文学作品。刘知幾在获嘉的20年,是其奠定史学根基的重要时段,也是其积累政治经验的重要时期,值得加以重视和研究。

Understanding Historiography is an epoch-making historical classic which is written by Liu Zhiji,a fa-mous historian of Tang Dynasty.Liu Zhiji’ s achievement is indispensable to his experience at Huojia County.He had been Secretary of Huojia County for about 20 years.During this time,he read many different historical works and laid a solid foundation for historical research.He discussed questions with friends and had a profound impact on his future historical work.Liu Zhiji also submitted written statements bluntly to the emperor in several times,showing keen political insight and a strong social responsibility.Moreover,he written a fiction The Prose of On Caution which criticizing the society and showing his aspiration.
