Electromagnetic transient simulation software PSCAD/EMTDC has wide application in power system of the world. In addition it also provides an efficient means for the simulation training of electrical engineering majors of colleges and universities. This paper introduces the application of PSCAD/EMTDC education version in tile teaching of power system protection, and describes in detail procedure and method of modeling and simulation about the distance protection. It can provide the teaching reference for electrical engineering.
