Australian writer Patrick White＇s novel A Fringe of Leaves tells the story of a shipwrecked lady Ellen who went through the ordeal in the savage tribe and finally returned to the civilized society. The novel was interpreted from the perspective of ecofeminism. By the analysis of the domination of men and the survival of women in the patriarchal society, people＇s ecological consciousness and the consciousness of equality between men and women could be awakened. Thus a society of gender equality and the harmonious development between human and nature could be established.
