摘要
全国医护英语水平考试(METS)从2007年开始实施,历经2010年和2014年两次重要改革。2014年的改革涵盖面广、力度强,体现了医疗行业对外语应用型人才的需求。本文对2014年医护英语水平考试改革进行分析,探讨考试改革对专业英语教与学的影响。结果表明,METS改革对教学材料和教学内容的影响较大,对教师和学生产生了正面和反面的反拨效应。考试设计者应整合学习者、教学单位、行业和社会等各方因素,进一步完善职业外语能力测试。
Medical English Tests System (METS) has been put into use since 2007 and was reformed in 2010 and 2014. The re- cent reform covers a wider range of medical fields and the intensity is stronger, which reflects the demand of competent English - speak- ing medical workers. This article is to analyze the recent reform of METS and its influence on medical English teaching and learning. The research result reviews its large impact on the teaching materials and content and points to the positive and negative washbaek of METS. The test designers need to take various factors such as language learners, teachers, the medical field and the society, into con- sideration to better revise such a career - oriented test.
