An atmosphere of pain and anguish seemed to cover the city of Tianjin the day after two devastating explosions rocked the city on August 12 th.To date, clean-up operations are still underway. On August 15 th, the State Council established a team to investigate the explosions. Led by the Ministry of Public Security, the investigation has brought in relevant departments, the Tianjin City government, the Supreme Procuratorate and experts to look into the tragedy.At 9 am on August 18 th, six days after the explosion, a thick haze hung over the city as seven separate locations in Tianjin held memorial services for those who died in explosion. A whistle that could be heard throughout the city was sounded in the Tianjin Port for three entire minutes in remembrance.
