“青”字的本义考——兼与潘峰先生商榷

Criticism about Original Meaning of the Word “Qing"——aims to deliberate with Mr. Pan Feng

论文针对潘峰在《释"青"》一文中提出的"‘青’是个文化词,并非开始就用来作颜色词"这一观点,提出了相反意见,认为卜辞中尚未发现"青"字,潘文所述卜辞中的"青"字实为"南"字。"青"字是个从生从丹的会意字,"青"字的本义为绿草的颜色,后来又用作深蓝、黑色等。"青"字出现之初就用作颜色词。

In Mr .Pan’s writings Paraphrase of the word“Qing” ,he holds the viewpoint that the word“Qing”origi-nally was not a color word but a cultural word .On the contrary ,we stand on the opposite point and view that the word“Qing”could not be found in the oracle inscriptions .“Qing”illustrated by Pan’s paper was actually confounded with the word“Nan” .The word “Qing” is an ideogram and phonogram whose structure consists of the top form of the word“Sheng”and the bottom“Dan” .The original meaning of“Qing”was the color of green grass .Later ,“Qing”was used to indicate colors like deep blue ,black and etc .“Qing”was a color word at the very beginning .
