With the continuous development of electric power technology, relay protection device in the substation is more and more common, which has important role in the protection of substation equipment. Reliable relay protection device is an important part of the whole power system. Therefore, it is very important to do a good job of relay protection. This paper mainly discusses the principle of relay protection, and calculates the setting value of current and fast breaking current.
