南海争端是横亘在中越两国之间最复杂、最难解决的历史遗留问题。冷战结束以来,随着两国海权意识的不断提升以及外部势力的介入,中越南海争端有愈演愈烈的态势。南海航道对于日本具有"生命线"意义,南海海域一直是日本关注的重点。近些年来,日本还逐步加大对中越南海争端介入的广度和深度。

The dispute between China and Vietnam over the South China Sea is the most complicated and difficult issue left over from history. Since the end of the Cold War, with the rising of sea power awareness of China and Vietnam as well as the involvement of outside powers, the dispute between China and Vietnam over the South China Sea has been intensifying. The sea route in the SouthChina Sea is of great significance to Japan as a 'lifeline' and Japan has long been concerned with the South China Sea. Since the end of the Cold War, Japan has gradually increased its involvement in China-Vietnam dispute over the South China Sea both in depth and breadth.
