The century history of Chinese coatings industry was reviewed. The technology distance between world coatings powerful nations and China was analyzed. It was proposed that the innovation system of coatings enterprise,marketing innovation system and concept of enterprise culture were the keys to recast the glory of Chinese coating industry.
