变色的玫瑰——试析张爱玲《红玫瑰与白玫瑰》中女性的生存困境

Fading Roses——On Women's Survival Dilemma in Eileen Chang's Red Rose and White Rose

张爱玲小说《红玫瑰与白玫瑰》讲述了主人公佟振保与几个女人的情感纠葛。作者选取了"男人眼中的女人"这一视角,深刻地揭示出女性在男权意识统治下的生存困境。作为情妇的红玫瑰,热情奔放,却让男人望而却步;作为妻子的白玫瑰,单纯柔顺,却又让男人深感乏味。女性在男权社会中究竟是选择做娇艳的红玫瑰,还是选择做纯洁的白玫瑰,尺度难以把握。本文通过两位女主人公角色的转变来简要分析作品中体现的"男权意识下女性角色转变反映的生存困境",并进一步探究造成这种困境的根源。

The novel Red Rose and White Rose of Eileen Chang narrates the love affaires of the protagonist Tong Zhenbao with several women from perspective of an authoress, and reveals how women are trapped by patriarchal consciousness. On the one hand, the mistress is analogous to a red roses, which is passionate but keeps a man far away; on the other hand, the wife is to a white rose, which is simple and tender, but bores a man. It is a dilemma for a woman to be either a blooming red rose or a pure white rose in male dominating society. This paper endeavors to analyze the novel in this respect, and the causes to the problem.
