摘要
采用大学英语四级考试中汉译英段落翻译测试并结合个人访谈,探究了高、中、低各32位不同英语水平的学习者对英语分词结构的回避情况。实验结果表明:(1)在翻译测试中,受试有意回避分词结构,且回避程度为高等。(2)随着受试英语水平的提升,其回避倾向随之减弱。(3)母语和目标语之间句法结构等方面的差异、对分词结构有限的接触量以及学习者自身所持有的消极心态等可能是造成学习者回避使用分词结构的主要原因。针对调查结果,提出了解决性的建议,旨在为独立学院公共英语教师规避产生回避的负面因素提供借鉴。
The paper, taking sophomores of Non-English Majors as subjects and using an empirical method, examines different levels of Chinese EFL learners' avoidance of English participial adverbials in Chinese-English Translation Test. Based on data collected through Chinese-English translation, and individual interview as well. The results reveal that : 1 ) the avoidance of English participial adverbials does exist in the learners. 2) Learners' English proficiency level has close relation to the quantity of production of participial adverbials: The avoidance in translation production decreases along with the improvement of learners' English proficiency. 3 ) The syntactic differences between Chinese and English structures, the lower input of target structure and the learners' negative beliefs may all contribute to the avoidance phenomenon by Chinese learners of Non-English Majors.
