摘要
译者个人伦理受制于四个因素,即原文本、读者期待准则、原语及目标语文化伦理传统、译者的文化取向。然而在翻译实践中,译者常常处于四者无法圆满调和的伦理困境。鉴于文化价值观和伦理道德标准有重叠之处,并且母语文化在很大程度上影响着译者的个人伦理,译者只有恪守求同存异这一中国传统文化核心价值观,站在辩证的文化立场上,方能摆脱翻译实践中面临的伦理困境。
Translator has personal ethics qua social member and his personal ethics is subject to the four deter- minants： the source text, the expectancy norm, ethical system in the source and target culture, and translator＇s cultural orientation. While in practice, translator is often placed in ethical dilemmas, for the four determinants can＇ t be combined into one. Considering the overlap between cultural values and ethical standards, and translator＇ s per- sonal ethics is greatly influenced by his native culture, this paper proposes that translators should follow one of the core concepts in traditional Chinese culture, the principle of Harmony in Difference, and take dialectic cultural ori- entation. Only this can help translator get out of his ethical dilemmas.
