Yanan Literature and Foreign Literature before the Yan'an Rectification

在延安文艺史上,外国文学有过一段难得的繁荣期。整风前的政策导向、鲁艺专门化、演大戏风潮、一组批判性杂文等四个环节表明,知识分子与政治领袖毛泽东的文艺思想分歧日益凸显。"五四"以来知识分子身上自由主义、个人主义、人道主义的外国文学基因深入骨髓。而毛泽东承袭马列主义的思想资源,一方面将之定性为资产阶级、小资产阶级情调,批评这种知识分子的文艺表现形式脱离了革命的主要基础,不能为工农兵服务;另一方面又竖起高尔基这面方向性大旗,不断暗示着文艺为政治服务的苏联经验。

In the history of Yanan literature and art,foreign literature had a period of unprecedented boom. Policy guidance before the Yan＇an rectification,specialization of Lu Yi（ 鲁艺）,agitation of play foreign drama,and a set of critical essays,showed growing differences between the literary thought of intellectuals and the political leader MAO Zedong. Since the＂May 4th＂Movement,foreign literature gene,such as liberalism,individualism and humanitarian,deeply embedded into intellectuals. MAO Zedong inherited the thought resources of Marxism-Leninism. On the one hand,MAO Zedong labeled those foreign literature gene as the bourgeoisie and the petty bourgeoisie＇s emotional appeal,criticized this kind of literary form of the intellectuals out of the main basis of revolution,can＇t service for the workers,peasants and soldiers; On the other hand,MAO Zedong raised Gorky as the directional flags,constantly suggesting the Soviet experience which literature and art serve for politics.
