After China's defeat in the Sino-Japanese naval battle of 1894- 1895,there emerged in the Chinese literary circle a host of Anti-Japanese literary works which can be considered the source of novels on the AntiJapanese War. As the first literary works to give a panorama of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894- 1895,A Biography of Japanese is of greater significance in the value of historical data,as is evident in the subsequently attached full text of A Brief History of China-Japan Peace Negotiations and the minutely-recorded talks between Li Hongzhang and Ito Hirobumi—a distinct revelation of the conflict between China and Japan in their respective state concept.Through an analysis of A Biography of Japanese and relevant historical data and literary works,it is highly significant,as is easily found,to date the source of Chinese Anti-Japanese War literature back to China's defeat in the Sino-Japanese naval battle of 1894- 1895,for it has greatly broadened the domain of Anti-Japanese War literature, thus having placed it in a more extensive space and restored its long-shrouded and misunderstood significance and value.
