Several Important Issues Concerning Semantic Prosody Research

摘要语义韵、语义选择趋向、涵义是一组相关却又相异的概念。与后两个概念相比,语义韵呈现以下特点:(1)语义韵的承载单位更为复杂,且抽象程度更高;(2)语义韵属于语用层面的运作规律,通过长期的共现关系形成;(3)语义韵通常比较隐匿;(4)语义韵的计量结果在一定程度上受到研究人员文化背景的影响。由于上述特点,语义韵考察中存在三个常见问题。 The concepts of semantic prosody,semantic preference,and connotation are closely related but different. Compared to the other two concepts,the characteristics of semantic prosody are as follows： ⑴Semantic prosody resides in many different kinds of language units,and it is much more abstract. ⑵Semantic prosody is formed through long- term collocation,and it is pragmatic- related. ⑶The nature of semantic prosody is usually hard to notice. ⑷The computation of semantic prosody might be influenced by the cultural background of different researchers. Special attention is paid to problems arising from the analysis of semantic prosody.
