雍正六年,曾静案发生,曾静谋反案事关重大,按大清律应是灭族之罪,但雍正帝却出奇宽容的将其赦免,反而将吕留良戮尸枭示。雍正帝出奇意外的料理主要源于其直率的性格,雍正帝渴望得到舆论的支持,并且希望通过赦免曾静而博得宽仁的美誉,通过严惩吕留良而达到警醒世人的作用。同时也希望通过对曾静案的处理而对臣民进行一场思想教育,消除困扰清政府统治的华夷思想。

Zeng Jing Case occurred in the sixth year of Yongzheng Dynasty. This rebellion ease was extremely serious and Zeng Jing should have been sentenced to have the clan extermination punishment according to Qing Law. However, Emperor Yonghzeng unexpectedly absolved Zeng Jing and ordered to behead the corpse of Lv Liuliang instead. The reason lies in Emperor Yongzheng＇ s out- right character. He hopes to get public support and a good reputation by mercifully absolving Zeng Jing and thus warn his subjects by severely punishing Lv Liuliang. Thereby, Emperor Yongzheng aims to carry on an extensive and profound ideological education, eliminating Hua - Yi Thought which has been impeding the rule of Qing Dynasty.
