作为视觉文化概念的最早提出者,巴拉兹是从精神可见性的角度来提出其视觉文化概念的,其视觉文化范型不是"可见的人",而是"可见的精神"。这一范型触及视觉文化发展的诸多深层次问题,具有先见之明,但因时代和个人局限,它存在诸多不足之处,主要是过于强调视觉文化的政治意识形态属性。
