Dinara combusta multiply a generation every year in the middle and south of Hebei Province. The pupa pass the winter in the soil, eggs can be seen in corn fields from the end of June to the first ten days of July. The caterpillers will grow quickly in the second and last ten days of July and in the first ten days of August. The populations of the insects are influenced by the basic factors of the pest in winter like climate,natural enemies and food. The resistance of the caterpillers is very weak, The caterpillers can be controled during the early period in the corn field by high efficacy cypermethrin EC etc, The contol effect was over 90%.
