The Iron Smelting industry inWugang has been existing since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period,now it has formed a rich cultural heritage centered on iron smelting culture. The tra- ditional iron smelting culture has impressed people deeply in the history, and also has been inherited and inno- vated in modem times, which fuels Wugang＇ s rise as the City of Iron SmeltingCulture in China today. Since Wugang is an emerging industrial city, it will have a strong practical significance by dating back to itshistory of traditional iron smelting culture,revealing the relationship between the development of iron smelting cul- ture and the development ofsociety, and its protection and inheritance in modern times.
