Image Turn or Image Supremacy:Some Reflections on Visual Representation in the Era of Image Reading

在语言学转向的思维模式下,人文科学和社会科学普遍采用"语言/话语"为中心的思维模式,而在图像转向思维模式下,图像文化模式取代语言文化模式成为把握和理解世界的主要思维模式。图文在各自领域中的话语展现及其彼此间的张力,展现出图文的意识形态及其表征,而且,在图像转向的影响下,文学和媒介的发展出现了图像化趋势,图像逐渐成为当代文化的中心,并冲击文学,形成了图像霸权。

In the linguistic turn thinking pattern,the studies of humanities and social sciences generally adopt a thinking pattern centered on language and/or discourse.In the image turn thinking pattern,visual cultural pattern,replacing the verbal cultural pattern,has become the main thinking pattern to understand the world.The utterance demonstration of image and text in their own field and the tension between them have revealed the visual and verbal ideology and representation.Influenced by the image turn trend,the development of literature and media have begun to be visualized.Images dominate contemporary culture,bringing huge impact on literature and forming image supremacy.
