On Mission and Connotation Development of Ethnic Universities

摘要 高校内涵式发展是现阶段党和国家提出的要求,也是高校的自觉选择。民族院校内涵式发展的基本内涵在于坚守办学使命和特色优势,实现办学资源的协同拓展、办学目标的有效达成。民族院校务必履行好特色人才培养、特定文化传递、特别决策服务的历史使命,基于办学使命采取不同的路径、策略实现自身的内涵式发展。本文根据民族院校办学资源和发展水平,提出了"推整体"、"补短板"、"拓优势"、"增后劲"、"强主干"这五种内涵式发展的策略,为民族院校探索自身内涵式发展路径提供参照。 Connotation development of higher education is both the current requirement of the Party and the State and the conscious choice of institutions of higher learning. The core of connotation development of ethnic universities lies in adhering to their school running missions and characteristic advantages, realizing cooperative development of school running resources, and effectively achieving school running aims. Ethnic universities must fulfill their historical responsibilities of cultivating talents with characteristics, spreading specific cultures and providing service for special decision-making and realize connotation development through different approaches based on their school running goals. This paper, based on school running resources and development levels of ethnic universities, puts forward five strategies for connotation development. They are 1 ) pushing forward the overall development; 2) making up for the deficiencies; 3) enhancing advantages; 4) increasing stamina; and 5) reinforcing major disciplines, which can provide reference for ethnic universities in their searching for connotation development approaches.
