无用与大用——从《国标》谈英语学科定位与建设

To Be of No Use or of Great Use:A Discussion on the Orientation and Construction of English Subject in the Light of "National Standard"

本文考察近几十年英语专业的发展状况,在《高等学校英语专业本科教学质量国家标准》(本文简称《国标》)制定过程中,重新思考英语专业以及英语语言文学的定位。确定其属于人文科学的范畴,提出了高等学校英语专业的培养目标、培养规格以及课程体系的基本理念。

This paper examines the development of English major in recent decades, and reconsiders its orientation as a subject of language and literature during the process of setting National Standard of Teaching Quality for English Major Undergraduate. To start with, this paper affirms that English language and literature belongs to humanities category, then puts forward some basic ideas about the educational goals, standards and curriculum systems of English subject itself.
