OBJECTIVE To investigate the newborn infections in the hospital in 2014 so as to discuss the major preventive measures.METHODS A total of 890 cases of infected newborns hospitalized from Jan.to Dec.2014 were selected. The clinical data of all infected newborns were statistically analyzed to find out the related factors.RESULTS Respiratory system was the main susceptible parts for newborns and the infection rate was up to54.27%,followed by blood system and nervous system, accounting for 34.38% and 26.74%.The neonates with infections with the gestational age less than 30 weeks were more than the neonates with infections with the gestational age more than 30 weeks, with significant difference(P〈0.05).However,the neonates with infections with the gestational age varying from 30 to 37weeks were more than the neonates with the gestational age more than 37 weeks, with significant difference(P〈0.05).The neonates with infections with the body weight less than 1 000 g were more than the neonates with the body weight more than 1 000 g,with significant difference(P〈0.05).The neonates with infections with body weight varying from 1 000 to 1 500 g were more than the neonates with the body weight more than 1 500 g,with significant difference(P〈0.05).There was no significant difference in the infection rate between different genders of neonates.CONCLUSIONThe hospital should pay attention to the newborn infection, especially strengthen prevention to those under gestational age and light newborns so that the infections can be controlled and decreased.
